Korean new rising star Kim Ah-joong (김아중)

Kim Ah-joong (also Kim Ah-Jung or Kim A-joong; born October 16, 1982, in Seoul, South Korea), is a South Korean film and drama actress/model. She graduated from Dongduk Women's University and attended Korea University and the International Hotel Management Institute Switzerland.
Kim A-jung is a well-known Korean actress/model/singer who rose to stardom from her roles in numerous films and commercials. Most known was her role as a large girl (Han-na) who undergoes cosmetic surgery makeover to become a pop sensation in the highly successful 2006 South Korean comedy movie 200 Pounds Beauty. For her leading role in 200 Pounds Beauty, she was awarded Best Actress in the 2007 Grand Bell Awards.[2] Prior to that, she previously appeared in a few other TV series including the popular The Bizarre Bunch in 2005 by KBS. As well as major commercials and continues to model.

She did her own singing in the movie, including "Beautiful Girl' in the opening credits music and the song 'Maria'.

Kim also is one of the most featured models in South Korean advertisements.






Korean Girls band Kara


Kara (카라, often stylized as KARA) is a popular girl group from South Korea signed with Daesung Entertainment (DSP). The band name Kara comes from the Greek Word "chara" (χαρά, lit. "joy"), which the group interpreted to mean "sweet melody".

Kara started as a four-member group and debuted with their first album The First Blooming in 2007. In 2008, Kim Sunghee departed the group due to parental pressure, and two members were brought in; as such, the group consists of five members: Park Gyuri, Han Seung-yeon, Goo Hara, Nicole and Kang Jiyoung. The five-member band achieved their first number one song with "Honey". Other successful singles include "Pretty Girl", "Wanna", "Mister", and "Lupin."

The group has released two full-length albums — The First Blooming and Revolution — along with various EPs. Kara has won various awards, including the Best Dance Award at the M.net Asian Music Awards and Best Female Singer at the 16th Korean Entertainment Arts Awards.

Kara began to promote internationally in various Asian countries as of 2009 and started to achieve wider international popularity in Asia. The band will perform at 2010 FIFA World Cup with the song: "We're With You".
